CyberSnap — Privacy Policy

CyberSnap saves videos you have the rights to keep. This policy describes what the app handles, what leaves your device, and what is stored.
The short version
CyberSnap has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Nothing is collected about you. One thing leaves the device — the link you ask the app to resolve — and it is not stored.
What the app handles
The link you give it. Pasted, typed, or shared into CyberSnap from another app. It is sent to the CyberSnap resolver (see below) so the server can work out where the media file actually lives. It is not associated with you, and it is not kept after the request is answered.
Your clipboard. When you open the Snap tab, or tap the paste shortcut, CyberSnap reads the clipboard once to see whether it holds a link. This happens only while the app is in the foreground — Android does not permit background clipboard reads — and the value never leaves the device unless you then ask for that link to be resolved. Clipboard contents that are not links are discarded immediately. Both behaviours can be switched off in Settings → Shortcuts.
Your downloads. Files are written to your device's Downloads folder. The app also keeps a list of what it saved — title, quality, size, timestamp and the file's location — in local storage on the device, so the Library tab can show it. That list never leaves the device and is erased by Settings → Clear library list or by uninstalling the app.

What leaves your device
Only the link, and only when you ask for it to be resolved. It goes to the CyberSnap resolver, a server operated by us, which reads the public page behind the link and returns the title, thumbnail and list of available qualities.
The resolver keeps no logs of resolved links beyond the transient records its hosting provider (Vercel) creates for operating the service — request timing and error diagnostics — which expire on that provider's own schedule.
The video file itself is downloaded by your phone, directly from the platform's content network wherever possible. For a small number of sources that refuse a direct request, the file passes through the resolver in transit. It is never stored there.
What is not collected
No name, email, phone number, account, advertising ID, device identifier, location, contacts or usage analytics. There is no crash reporting SDK. There is no login to any platform, and CyberSnap cannot access anything that requires one.
Permissions
- Internet — to resolve links and download files.
- Notifications (optional) — only if you turn on the paste shortcut, which
puts a permanent notification in your shade.
- Storage, on Android 9 and older (
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — to write into
the public Downloads folder. Android 10 and newer need no such permission.
CyberSnap does not request photo or video library access.
Children
CyberSnap is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Copyright
CyberSnap does not bypass paywalls, private accounts or DRM, and fetches only publicly accessible media. Downloading someone else's video may breach a platform's terms or the creator's copyright; that responsibility is yours. If you hold rights in material you believe is being infringed through this service, write to the contact address below and we will act on it.

Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with a new date above.
